This is not the absolute best and or luxurious place to stay in the Maldives, however when it comes to value for money, the One & Only is untouchable. This one is always a favourite of our customers! It’s the place to go for trend setters and with it’s 12 different beaches and fantastic food it’s not hard to see why people visit this large sprawling island.
As you approach the island via a splendid 65ft luxury yacht you can take in some of the gorgeous ocean views and let your excitement for your arrival grow! When you arrive you’ll be greeted with soft white sand, palm trees, clear blue waters… Wow!
Regardless if you’ve gone for a beach villa or gone all out and have chosen to stay in a grand beach villa with pool, all accommodation at the One & Only comes with it’s own private stretch of beach, sunbeds and outdoor showers which you can find on your own personal veranda, but don’t be put off by the outdoor shower, the villa is shrouded by exotic plant life giving you a truly private experience. Each villa comes with its own concierge, garment pressing service, fresh fruit delivered to the villa daily, along with mineral water, espresso and tea to wash it down with… oh and of course, this is the Maldives, you don’t have to both with the pesky unpacking and packing your luggage because that’s all done for you!
If that’s not enough space for you to kick back and relax in there’s also the world class spa for you to sit back, relax and get some well deserved pampering. If your someone who wants to eat as natural as possible you’ll be heading straight for Botanica. The restaurant sources all of it’s ingredients from the island and you can have herbs added to your dishes from herbs and spices that actually grow around the dining area! This is the perfect restaurant for the true garden to fork experience.
Or perhaps you have more of a taste for a diverse contemporary menu, well that’s exactly what you can find at the Reethi. An exquisite infusion of French, Asian and Italian flavours. What might seem like an odd mix, but trust us, we’ve tried and tested this restaurants and it’s one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had.
The island is also home to an authentic Japanese restaurant. The contemporary restaurant serves traditional Japanese cuisine in a tapas style setting. The restaurant also serves sushi and has a modern twist on all it’s dishes to bring them to life. Along with this the restaurant has fresh deliveries from around the world everyday to ensure it meets the highest standards of quality.
Sample tastes of the Middle East over at Fanditha. Skilled chefs put on a spread of classic mezze dishes from Syria, Lebanon, Morocco and more. Sample an authentic taste of the Middle East. As well as all that there’s also a range of private dining experiences for you to chose from and a range of bars.
But alas, being the restless species that we are, inevitably you may become tired of all the relaxing… But never fear, there is a range of activities on offer! If you need some mental stimulation there is no better place than the Reethi Rah’s art gallery, where you can have the chance to be taught by leading marine artist Christopher Hogan! You can have lessons in ceramics, stained glass, Venetian mask decoration, miniature sculpture, floristry, jewelry and more. Along with that you can also try your hand at tennis, rock climbing or even treat your self to some retail therapy and look around the islands shops!
But of course, all of the Maldives takes in from it’s natural surroundings and has a nautical element to it. One of the best activities you can do and one that we would recommend trying at any island you visit would have to be snorkeling. With a visibility level of up to 50 meters it’s an absolutely brilliant way to see a part of our world that we very rarely get to see. There’s opportunities to visit one of the Maldives best shark sites, as well as ship wrecks, sea turtles and manta ray viewing. This is something you NEED to try. There’s also some fun filled power boating experiences for any adrenaline junkies our there, including water skiing, parasailing, wake boarding and more! And if all that isn’t enough you can also take a trip off island with one of the excursions on offer.
